Oksana Berda is a multidisciplinary artist based in Toronto. Her work explores the act of transformation through material, gesture, and story. Working with canvas and clay, she examines how touch, repetition, and process can hold memory and reveal a deeper sense of belonging.
Her ongoing body of work, New Alchemy, merges painting, sculpture, and writing to explore the cycles of erosion and renewal found in both nature and the human experience. Each piece reflects a conversation between body and landscape, a meditation on change, devotion, and repair.
With a background in literature and creative writing, Oksana approaches abstraction as a form of lyrical language, where image, text, and texture intertwine. Her practice extends into installation and participatory projects that invite viewers to slow down, listen, and inhabit the space between the real and the imagined.
