ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Ezintlokwen' which refers to a place where they sell meat, which is a delicacy that meets one's needs and is prepared in the way in which it would be prepared in the Xhosa homesteads, Eastern Cape, but done within the Urban realm/city. The artwork is inspired by the pride I have in the landscapes I've grown in, and the everyday experiences I've had growing up. The experience portrayed may be drawn from the artist's perspective, but is also reflective of the everyday experiences and memories of others too.
