Portugal
João David was born in Lisbon in 1983. After several jobs he travelled around Latin America for one year. He settled for a while in Buenos Aires, where he attended Fine Arts at the University of Buenos Aires. There he had his first contact with the world of print art and new painting techniques. Nevertheless, he decided to rely on his draughtsmanship and make his drawings his life’s purpose. His art, with great complexity of detail and powerful colouring, opens up a new universe, which evokes both the mythological and the fantastic. At the moment João David is living in the centre of Portugal, in the middle of the mountains near Torres Novas. He is dedicated to his art full time. Every work shown is made with inkpen and colour pencil.
