This work is inspired by beautiful, prismacolor sunsets...sunsets that almost, at times, seem unreal as you look out onto the horizon. I used layers of Akua monoprinting inks to print the luxuriously rich colors onto recycled coffee filters. Each circle filter is unique and mounted onto archival museum board, framed 28.25" x 29.25" in a white wooden frame. I hope that this piece gives a sense of joy, harmony and breath. *See additional photos for framing.

Ali Herrmann is a mixed media painter, colorist and science lover, whose work explores cellular structures as an origin into her abstract artworks. Creating what she terms ‘micro-biome landscapes,’ Herrmann uses SEM images and organic shapes as inspiration to explore concepts of blood, bacteria, fungi, and unicellular structures within her boldly colorful, abstract artworks. Exploring themes of repetition, rhythmic orders, geometric shapes, and chaos-order theory, Ali brings attention to nature's details that are often overlooked.
