About The Artwork
I created Airhead while at The Art Center in Pasadena in 1985 or 86. Since then he's become quite a character! Imagine a rocket and spaceship crash test dummy in the 23rd century who's brain is stolen. Then it gets weird! Airhead's only purpose is to make you laugh. This is one of many of my illustrations and paintings I used to illustrate the three-episode sci-fi novel, "Airhead In Space," about the insane adventures of this implausible character as he traverses the galaxy to recover his stolen brain. The books are available online. Google search my name and they will come up in the results.

My passion is painting. I draw and sketch daily but have a continuous fascination watching a face come alive as I paint, or paint believable reflections. I want my work to catch the viewer's eye and create an emotional connection. I was born in North Dakota and grew up in the Pacific Northwest, Portland, Oregon and Vancouver, Washington. I began drawing when I was about five years old. I can remember how fascinated I was with fingerpaints and how the colors blended as I smeared my hands through the greasy paints.
