About The Artwork
I've painted Austin before, but it was ten years ago, so when I was commissioned to paint it again, I printed my own original work on canvas and updated the skyline. Austin is such a vibrant and young city, it is certain that if I live another few decades I will have to paint it again and again! I wanted the color to be close to the real colors of the buildings, but also to convey the energy of the city. The bridge in the foreground is known as a spot to watch the bats emerge each evening at dusk, an Austin tradition.
