Tasseography, or tea leaf reading, comes from the French word tasse (cup) and the Greek word graph (writing). In a previous post I described the significance of numbers. Today I decided to share five symbols that start with the letter A. Acorn - long-term success Alligator - enemy waiting to attack Anchor - security in life Angel - good news Arrow - bad news There are so many different symbols. A lot of them are subjective, meant to be entertaining, and up for interpretation by the reader. As such, it requires a quick mind and good improvisation skills to be a reader.

Adam Norgaard (b. 1991) is an American artist working in Japan for the past 9 years. His works reflect the process of adapting to a culture different from his own. Working with oils as his main medium, he remains playful while also maintaining a finished quality. Adam attempts to bring the viewers into a foreign environment of their own by the atmosphere depicted in his paintings. In his own practice he is working at deviating from references and attempting to work completely from his imagination.
