About The Artwork
This is a stylized depiction of geraniums on my window sill. It was painted in early spring when there are no green leaves on the trees yet, but the geranium leaves inside are of course green. So I have painted over the light spring green with red, to depict the color green by its opposite. It depicts all the passion and yearning for the spring to some. I make a reference to Matisse's painting "The Red Room" here, too.
