Seafront Snacks Photograph

This is a continuation of my studies into the British Isles and its quintessential landscape. Shot on a typical, British summers day at Southend-on-Sea, Essex, this is one of the many snack bars that cater to the throngs of tourists and locals alike that promenade the seafront come rain or shine. Weather-beaten, faded, ravaged by wind, sun (sometimes) and salt air the exterior harks back to a simpler time before the nonsense of mega-milky-machiato's and quinoa salads. Devoutly British in both style and content, and pale in colour much like the sunbathers on the beach this is an image as quietly British as a cosy cup of tea.
