About The Artwork
Color Photography Artist Sara Richardson This piece, part of The Enchanted Series, began with a photograph taken with an old school medium format Mamiya RZ67 and color film. The site location is close to Spruce Mountain, Colorado. A funny story about this photo is that after hiking through heavy snow while carrying the over-sized beach balls plus equipment the balls were then anchored to the ground with fishing line. The day was cold and calm but towards the end of the photo shoot a strong gust of wind came through (typical Colorado) , snapped the lines causing the balls to break loose and whip wildly towards a barbed wire fence in the distance. I managed to clownishly catch them all before they got to the fence and were torn to pieces. Free range mooing cattle watched the entire comedy unfold.
