About The Artwork
The title of this work refers to two distinct things which have merged here on the canvas. On the one hand we find the notion of tattoo through the word "ink", and when we look at the woman who hides her face, it is difficult to deny the importance of the ink since it covers a large part of his body. And on the other hand, “Encre-Forte” refers to the notion of etching (eau-forte in French), which is a process of engraving in intaglio on a metal plate; however, through the colors, texture and stripes, the work closely resembles an engraved and inked metal plate... This work is produced in mixed media on canvas and combines photography, digital composition and acrylic painting (transparent glazes and a signature square in relief). This is a unique piece. It is framed in black wood (total dimensions: approximately 32 x 32 x 3.5 cm)

« In the age of digital technologies, I couldn't just be a painter or a photographer. My 'paintographies' bring down borders between techniques and offer a resolutely contemporary hybrid art. » I was born in 1975 in a small town in the French countryside and arrived in Paris in 1992 for my studies (History, English and literature). I have been a professional artist since 2007, with over 60 exhibitions across France and Europe. My artistic approach is both simple and complex. Although my work portrays a figurative aesthetic that favors clarity, it does so through a complex blending of photography, digital art, and acrylic painting. The result is a mixed technique I call ‘paintography’. My compositions highlight the fragility of the human body. I transform my model into virtual sculptures by replacing their skin with mineral materials to represent the passage of time.
