About The Artwork

Watercolor on Fabriano paper in alla-prima technique. Aseeva started her artistic career when she was 2 years old and her first medium was watercolor. She studied technique from the most famous contemporary artists and continues her practice with this medium. She says: "I need to change the subject sometimes. Watercolor is perfect for quick precise and fresh artworks. I appreciate this freshness and tend to abstraction and minimalism while using this medium, it seems to be done exactly for this."

Hi, my name is Dina, I am an artist based in Turkey. I live near the sea, this is my favorite subject which I paint almost every day. I love the nature and try to convey different atmosphere, energy and state. I love to pass this perception of the world to other people. I am greatly inspired by impressionism and expressionism, but I like working in my unique style. I started to paint with watercolor when I was 2 years old, since then it became my great passion and one of my favorite mediums. After formal education which I got at Voronezh Art School and Stroganov Art Academy, I continued to explore possibilities of watercolor, different styles and techniques, moving from the classical concept of painting to more elusive and expressionistic one. Of course I tried oil and pastel, when I finally discovered acrylics. This medium combines the possibilities of watercolor and oil and gives me a wide field for experiments. When I paint I observe the subject trying to catch the state and color, the very core of what I see. I noticed that the state of nature is deeply connected with the way people feel and act. I try to live in these states, remember and transfer them through the paintings. I love sailing and I spend a huge amount of my time in the sea. I notice shades and colors, it is alway different. The water, the light and the sea are an infinite source of inspiration for me. I hope you will enjoy my art and I will manage to transfer to you what I experience.
