My work is primarily landscape based painting and drawings using the mediums of oils, pastels, mixed media and watercolour. The landscape can be relatable, they can be somewhere you know, driven past, they have a familiar sense to them. However, what emerges from the landscape are silhouetted ghostly figures that narrative a story of people living on the land. They are not sinister figures but convey nostalgic memories of country life, of battling against extreme weather conditions that many regional inhabitants face. Importantly, it is their stories and emotional experiences that are portrayed in the artworks.
