Autobiography:

My name is Jana Vrtělová. I was born in April 11th, 1953 in Prague. I have always been interested in arts and in my childhood I took part in many local art courses. I graduated from the secondary School of Electronics in Pilsen. I studied the plastic arts privatly in the studios of Jiří Kovařík and later I joined the studio of Jiří Patera at the Teacher Training College in Prague. After several years of working as a teacher of art I used to work in the School of art in Starý Plzenec. Arts began to be a part of my life and culture became too important to me that I decided to work as a professional painter.

I have been engaged in painting, drawing, working with paper and wooden sculptors since 1990. In 1981 I was awarded a second price in the competition called "BIENÁLE of plastic and graphic arts". Since that time I have been awarded many more prices. I have also took part in 40 exhibitions in Czech Republic, 6 exhibitions together with my colleagues in arts. I also showed my work on my own on these exhibitions:
