The full Moon is fascinating. There’s something unique and ethereal about it. On the right night, the full moon can produce enough light to make it feel like a photographic negative of the sun. In contrast to the infinite nature of the Sun, a full Moon is a rare event. There are a finite number of full moons in a human life. They can be counted. Don’t take them for granted. Try to grab a private moment outside to acknowledge each full moon no matter where you are, even if it’s just a 30 second gaze standing outside in snow. The lunar calendar guides and inspires my photography work. 95+% of my photos are taken of or during full moons. I’ve been creating these images for over 15 years. The abstract images I create are intentional. Photos of the full Moon are common, photos using the Moon as a medium to create other images are less so. I want the beauty of the image to be primary with the reveal that the Moon was the “brush” used to create it coming thru as the “WOW”.
