Robert Sainer works across painting, photography and sculpture — three disciplines he does not separate, but treats as a single investigation into form, light and perception.
Based at Lake Starnberg, Bavaria, his practice is shaped by the landscape of the Alpine foothills and by a rigorous engagement with geometric abstraction. His paintings layer color and structure until the surface becomes meditative — geometry that does not close, but opens. His photography captures what engineering and nature build without intention: patterns that reveal themselves only when the eye slows down.
Works by Sainer are held in private collections across Europe and have been exhibited at the Buchheim Museum, the Government of Bavaria (Maximilianstrasse, Munich), and most recently at the Akademie für Politische Bildung, Tutzing (KALEIDOSKOP, 2026).
He is a recipient of the Audience Award of the Starnberg Art Association (2024).
