Hello, my name is Venessa, and I'm a Jamaican abstract artist. My passion for art began at a young age when I was inspired by my Aunt Marie who I consider to be a multi-talented artist. She exemplifies tenacity by using her craft to support her family. My aunt is a source of motivation for me and a part of my “Why”. She is truly an inspiration, my inspiration.
At the age of ten, I won my first art competition with an abstract art piece. The piece consisted of connecting several lines to create a larger body of work. Later in life, I was able to attend the Edna Manley School of Art in Jamaica, where I was able to hone some of my early artistic abilities as a student.
My purpose is to use my art to inspire and connect others through it. Art has always been a connection between unspoken words, and I want to keep doing what I love to reach as many people as possible.
