Robert La Roche

I paint the pictures that I would like to see: merged abstract and figurative modes with a story or a definite image and an identity. I like to create spaces in which something abstract can happen. My pictures are truly abstract in that they often start out a lot more detailed and figurative than they wind up. Landscapes, objects and figures get colors, forms and details abstracted from until I get an enigmatic image that I can live with.
