I work as both a painter and a sculptor. My approach to painting echoes my approach to sculpture in that I build, take away and build again. Working palette knives, impasto and clothes are soaked in oil paint and wiped onto canvas to create both a feeling of sweeping energy and the entrance of light. New work is focused on both light and landscape and change. Latest Body of work is called REFORESTING THE SOUL Exploring fragments of light, influenced by Turner and Richter, the poets and a new medium of inks. I feel that 'light' calls the form into existence.
