Matt Wain

Matt Wain was born and raised in the UK. After studying at Salisbury College of Art he travelled extensively throughout Asia and lived in Sydney and London before settling in Pangbourne, Berkshire in the United Kingdom. Wain still travels widely today on commissions and on personal trips all over the world.

Living concentrates on Wains passion for capturing the patterns found in nature and the emotions they evoke in us. He says:

Im interested in demonstrating how elements work together to produce an alternative view of sometimes quite ordinary things.

North explores how an unforgiving environment changes a landscape and is directly influenced and altered by those living there. Sometimes bleak, the images are often imbued with a sense of irony influenced by the remoteness of the subject.

"It is essential for me to keep my art natural, working only with sunlight
and entirely on location. I work hard to create the images in camera. Constructing an image using a computer is the polar opposite of what Im trying to achieve. So post-production retouching is kept to an absolute minimum, usually this will comprise colour adjustment only.
