I started painting outdoors from nature mainly as a way to focus more on abstraction. I’d like concepts to be suggested and developed rather than imposed. Ideally the abstract qualities of a painting will create narratives and suggestions of space that are different from what might otherwise be imagined. A painting, even though it is relatively small, can contain its own universe.
