Mihail Stefan Aleksandrov was born in São Paulo, Brazil, in 1980. His work’s main theme is memory and the human experience, from everyday life to family and art history. Capturing the feeling of nostalgia and vulnerability, he creates layered images that lay somewhere between figuration and abstraction. He works mainly with found material, movie stills and old family photographs to create collages, and uses experimentation as his main tool to produce the final painting.
