Born in New York in 1949, I've travelled from Indonesia to Berkeley and New York City. The journey is the reward. As a multi-disciplinary artist, I find the Story is always seeking new ways to be expressed. I suppose that's one way of saying I'm stuck with being a restless, eclectic artist. My interest in masks derives from a long interest in theatre and story telling. I'm also a ceramic artist, and I have a life-long devotion to mythology. The stories of our lives join a river of universal stories, threads that recede into unknown beginnings, and threads that we ourselves are weaving for those who are yet to come. Shrines and Icons are material representations of this evolutionary process, and my current series, "Our Lady of the Shards", explores this.
