Ersin Gürtel

The artist was born in Kdz Eregli in 1979. He pursued a bachelor's and master's degree (Prof. Tayfun Erdogmus Atolyesi), both in Painting, at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Marmara University. In his paintings, he applies his unique technique so as to create figurative compositions. Using a variety of techniques, he creates the core of human nature such as, among others, goodness, badness, darkness, and brightness. Additionally, social roles, identities, and cultural edges are at the heart of his work. He illustrates the potential of humans for both violence and innocence from the framework of their immature mental and physical forms. In his figures, he reflects the dissonance in body components via strange looks, characteristic postures, and facial expressions. By doing so, he conveys to the audience the scary facet of the inner child. The artist currently lives and works in Istanbul.
