About me:
artist painting in realism, folklife and nature. Present obsession is painting in Nihonga - a japanese style of painting. This involves the use of rock mineral pigments like oyster shells, corals, semi precious stones, gold and silver etc, on handmade paper. The painting is laid substrate and pigments layered upon by brush using glue and water . The paintings have a unique texture and color.

Studied and researched Nihonga - the Japanese style of painting in japan for 4 years at Aoyama Bunka centre, Tokyo. Studied Japanese language for 7 years, interacted with japanese artists and teachers to acquire this unique technique which they said went from India in the 6th Century.

On my return from Japan I adapted this to create my own style & expression in paintings.

Solo exhibitions : many in India. Invited on landmark occasions to Tokyo , Japan , Singapore and to San Francisco , USA
