Art and psychology have always been intertwined in Marcia Reich’s career paths. “Art often gives voice to what cannot be expressed in words”. And the ultimate is to find the road map to feelings and the sharing of our deepest emotions. Marcia knows from both training and experience that people need multiple ways to express how they feel. The use of art, music and poetry was a natural integration.
Marcia Reich resides in New Jersey, but spent a lot of time in New York City where she grew up. She is known for her playful mark-making, her adventurous use of color and a knack for including odds and ends other than paint into her work. Having no set limits is what makes it all come together.
Marcia has extensive training in psychology - working specifically with underserved and voiceless populations. She maintained an active therapy practice while pursuing a parallel career in the arts that included exhibiting, creating commissions and publishing essays and works of poetry. Being an artist is now her primary work and love.
