Laura Meredith

born in southampton, England in 1983, I graduated from the University of Portsmouth with a degree in Illustration. I create small sculptures and sets which i then photograph. My interests include old books and manuscripts, fancy dress and costume, fabric, texture and anything very small. I try to arouse curiosity from the audience and to create and explore a narrative. I would say that there is a correlation between the scale of my work and the way the subjects are perceived. Children and the elderly are often overlooked, and we assume their lives and opinions are less significant. If you look closer you can become facinated with the small details that are important to them.
