Taking urban art to a new level, the edgy style of Ellis draws on 30 years of experience in creative graphic design. His passion for art was obvious at a young age. School assembly was often adorned with his paintings of Kings and Queens of England. He went on to be influenced by artists such as: Antoni Tàpies, Mark Rothko and Andy Warhol. Today, Ellis is a devotee of street art. He brings its immediacy and rawness into his painting and sculpture. His work ranges from the abstract to the satirical, and is often a humorous commentary on modern life. A wide range of materials are employed to produce the complex texture and patination of his art. The limited edition prints differ in look from the originals, however each edition has been worked on intensively to achieve the same depth and impact.
