ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Before I started creating this work I've been exploring european fairy tales and illustrations. I was inspired mostly by scandinavian and slavic folklore. I wanted to draw baba yaga character in context of scary, powerful nature. I tried my best to make it dark, mysterious and interesting. I worked in my favourite style, inspired by old engravings, and used indian ink for best quality. This drawing has a lot of details and intricate texture, so it looks better in original than on monitor.
