About The Artwork

In creating this piece, I embraced the luminosity of pastels to capture the vibrancy of life itself. The impressionistic, semi-abstract style weaves a tapestry of emotion, with energetic strokes bringing the still life to a vivid reality. It's as if the very soul of the flowers and the dynamic patterning of the cloth are dancing in harmony. This artwork is an invitation to bask in tahe warmth and jubilation that brightens any space, infusing it with spirited beauty. This still life was inspired by the Anemones - their different colours blending in with the coloured cloth. It is a pastel artwork as pastels have pure pigment to bring out the brightness of the colours. I use Henri Roche pastels which are manufactured in France. They are among the best pastels made in my opinion . It is framed in a simple white frame. Materials used: pastel and charcoal

My childhood was spent in Sussex where I developed a love of the rolling hills and country side. After Art college I moved to London where I continued painting. I discovered pastel painting a few years ago which I love for its brilliant pure colours. I found the light and rich colours of the South of France could be caught using using this medium. After visiting New York, where I had an exhibition , I was very interested in the awesome buildings and am currently painting a series of cityscapes of New York and London.Patricia is influenced by the French Impressionists.Working in oils and pastels, producing still lifes, landscapes and nudes of scenes that range from Twickenham to St.Tropez, Patricia's resulting work reflects the vibrant colours and brilliant light of the South of France.Patricia was recently made a member of the Society of Women Artists.
