The Wanderer 2020 - Limited Edition of 5 Artwork

I am currently painting using my ipad. I believe it is called digital painting, made famous by David Hockney who also enjoyed the freedom that drawing directly onto his ipad offered. This new medium gives me the freedom to explore nature and convey both the charm and serenity of the places I discover. Often my paintings are of my coastal walks on the Costa Brava where I live in Spain. Working from observation, I layer colours, shapes, lines and textures to give my unique impression of the scene before me. Using my finger to draw also lends my paintings an authentic intimacy and energy. Throughout my adventures and global wanderings I have always sketched, painted and studied fine art. setting up studio on a desert island south of Somalia or in the sitting room of a New York apartment or at an art school in Munich or London. My work evolves with my life. Thick sumptuous oils of chubby bathers made way for luminous layers of haunting acrylic abstracts and now I am enjoying the freedom and possibilities of digital painting. I live in Catalonia with my beloved husband, daughter, donkey and dog!
