Rodrigo Martín was born in Asturias and he is currently living and working in Madrid (Spain). When he chose to study an Arts Baccalaureate, he began to have a more direct contact with the art world. He started to be in interested in painting and the different possibilities offered by the drawing applied in its various techniques. Determined to continue with his artistic training, he entered the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Basque Country in 2004, where he focused on intaglio engraving. In September 2008, he traveled to Barcelona to finish his studies in Fine Arts, with the idea of improving his painting in a city that offered him new artistic and creative abilities. He started to focus his style in abstract expressionism. He was selected for several exhibitions in the north of Spain which allowed him to be known in different galleries and art circuits. At this time, he finished a Master's Degree in Artistic Creation and started a predoctoral work called "The Pictorial Unconscious: Origin and Impulse in the Creative Process of Abstraction". In these past years, he has participated in multiple collective exhibitios in different cities of Spain, Boston, London… and has also had solo exhibitions in different galleries of the country where his art has evolve more than ever. He is currently developing his pictorial work in Madrid, where he lives. He has just presented "Cuadratura", a solo exhibition in the capital. He made a huge change on his art, being it more geometric than ever. He is exploring all the posibilities that color and geometry can give to a canvas, to a paper and even to a wall (mural painting).
