Dispelled Moments 1 Painting

I am Ratnashawar Sutradhwar, a Dhaka based Visual Artist born in Sunmagonj, Bangladesh. Having professional learning from the department of Drawing and Painting of the University of Dhaka, achieving BFA and MFA degree from the same Department, I have been teaching in the department of Fine Art in Jahangirnagar University since the year of 2016. Along with two solo exhibitions and many group shows, my artworks have been showcased in diverse platforms in my country and abroad. In my paintings I tend to depict the ruptures and societal imbalance connotating as the impression of hanged video files those are fragmented into distorted and uneven pixels conveying only the color essence of some particular still frames. These impressions of distorted images are depicted both juxtaposing as well as transgressing two images as their reciprocal positioning of their positive and negative spaces through managing side by side square shaped tints those resembles the perplexed states of stuck video files. As if, in this era of smart technology we are moving and interacting with the societal situations having low-resolution self-esteem. In this way, I have tried to assimilate undisputable state of minds and dealing with our circumstantial realities in a distinct stylistic approach. Beyond two-dimensional surficial art-practices I enthusiastically endeavor to explore art medias acquiring spaces with diverse possibilities those I have experimented in few of my curatorial projects.
