This is a material study of the PKS series, in which I explore the aesthetic and expressive possibilities of layering different materials, in this case heavily textured paint. This landscape-like painting resembles the texture of a wall upon which time has long been passing. The passage of time and importance of materials and texture show in an especially prominent way in this piece.

Some very strong influences are abstract expressionism, particularly color field painters, European informal artists, such as Antoni Tàpies and Miquel Barceló, and Gerhard Richter.
