This series is a documentation of the recent volcanic eruptions on the Big Island of Hawaii and address the immediate and grave conditions and threats of island devastation due to the current crisis of Global Warming and how it not only effects Native life on the island and it's indigenous people, it also addresses the severe impact Global Warming has on our entire planet. I hope to address through this work the urgent need for immediate intervention so that we as humans may have the opportunity to endure and continue not only our own survival, but the survival and well being of our fragile ecosystems on land and sea, including our solar system and protecting our wildlife for generations to come.

Hello, I am an exhibiting artist, photographic educator and activist. My full bio can be seen on my Saatchi profile page and on my website. I am an award winning photo based artist and I’ve had the good fortune to be included in several critically acclaimed solo and group exhibitions including the National Museum of Women in the Arts sponsored by the Smithsonian Museum of Women Artists. Some of my solo exhibits include The Museum of Fine Art of New Mexico in Santa Fe. Raised between Berkeley, California and Rural Mississippi ( I am a Native American Artist) the disparity of the haves and have nots has deeply informed my work as a result of growing up in two very polarized worlds of radical and political Berkeley in the 70’s and very rural, racist and poor Mississippi. I am an activist dedicated to the civil rights and liberty’s of Women, immigrants, and all people of color who are suffering under a sickening and very dangerous administration. My work deals with global warming, despite the fact that the work is visually very beautiful it has a larger subtext which explores just how imperative and urgent our need for immediate reform because as we all know by now we are facing the most serious consequences of the inconvenient truth of global warming! Also I am a yoga teacher and the founder of Native Flow Yoga where I will be teaching workshops throughout the winter on the Big Island of Hawaii, I am hoping to add photography workshops and island tours as well. Please feel free to contact me and visit my websites any time. Thanks so much for looking at my work as it means so much to me! Om Shanti and Shaka! Camille Ross
