I was born in Norfolk, VA and spent much of my younger years recreating on the shore of the Chesapeake Bay. The beauty of the sea, the hues of the sunsets and the vibrant colors of botanicals are all reflected in my glass art. I now reside in the desert area of Arizona. At first, I found it difficult to quench my desire for bright, natural colors. After a few years, I now see the exceptional colors of the canyon rocks, the cactus blooms, the mountains and the scenic vistas. My sense of color, composition and style developed as a child. I began developing “color boards” scrapbooks of clips from shelter magazines at age eight. Little did I know this early process would lead to an interior design career. From there the logical progression was to create art glass with vibrant colors and abstract designs for interior and exterior installations. Glass is an amazing medium that incorporates colors, textures, patterns, and shapes. When working with this material it is exciting to see the results of the synergy of glass and light. Each piece is an original creation. The interplay of transparency, color, and light in glass is an ever-changing process. Working with glass is a choreographed dance of art, chemistry, and science to achieve the desired result. Ever-changing, ever beautiful!
