Steve Ettlinger

Self-taught, I spend a lot of time in Stonington, Maine, on Deer Isle, an island off the coast. My neighbors include mostly fishermen and foresters (and a good dose of artists). They all inspired me, but I have an affinity for tools from renovating old houses and boats both in Maine and in Brooklyn, NY (where I work as well).

No art degree. BA in Political Science from Tufts University, 1971.

Many group pop-up shows since 2019 with Park Slope/Windsor Terrace Artists in Brooklyn. Many group shows since 2017 in the Deer Isle Artists Association Gallery. Regular participant in Gowanus Open Studios (Brooklyn). Solo show at Ossam Gallery, Brooklyn, NY (pop-up). 2024: TWO shows at BWAC Gallery , Red Hook, Brooklyn.
