I lived on a small farm just beyond the old madrone tree, and I admired it every time I drove past it. On the day when I set up and painted the tree, two enormous, curious, black bulls slowly wandered toward me. I felt terrified when I saw them, and I quickly packed up and left. Welcome! Painting is a joyful activity, and I hope my creations delight viewers. I offer fine quality prints and some original paintings. Born in Thailand to American parents, I began oil painting at age seven when my father gave me an oil set for my birthday, telling me, "Just don't eat the paint." As a teenager during the 1970s, I studied sumi ink brush painting with a Chinese master while my family lived in Vientiane, Laos. In the 1980s, I studied Japanese brush painting for many years with master painter Kayoko Bird in Berkeley, California. I also studied Art at Laney College, Oakland. Today, I live on the coast north of San Francisco and enjoy abstract mixed media painting and plein air painting. I have written, copied and published three art-related books: "Carry Your Own Joy," "Journey to the Tracks," and "Old Painted Doors and Gates."
