Dickie Gamble

I began my art career in the early '00s working under the name Six04. Creating large format graphic driven pieces and receiving multiple commissions for commercial and private collections. As well as regularly exhibiting in London, Amsterdam, Barcelona. After relocated to Sydney I continued working, notably on the ‘Urban Exploration Exhibition' supported by Stussy.

I returned to the UK to co-found a boutique creative agency. Working with brands such as Conde Nast, Nike, Levis, and Paul Smith on award-winning branding and campaign creative. Continuing to paint and exhibit during this period helped balance the commercial limitations of agency life.

Over time my work has evolved into abstract expressionism and modern landscapes. But with a graphic foundation influenced by designers such as Peter Saville and David Carson. My years of art direction experience are reflected in the awareness of the marks and composition in my work.

Painting, like my other passions of surfing and mediation, are all practices that require you to be in the moment. When I’m working no other thoughts or distractions are present.
