In the ever-changing life of an artist, ideas and innovation meet and interchange constantly. This is also true for Birgit Kuss’ career, throughout which she does not follow any popular trends.

In her early creative period, Birgit drew on the archaic primal force of ancient civilizations and translated them into her paintings.
In her following abstract period, she carries on exploring her penchant for mysticism and meditative immersion.

Her passion for observing and capturing images lead Birgit Kuss to her latest artistic expression through photography. Combining digital photo manipulation and mixed techniques on canvas with gold and wood patterns, her work reaches a new multi-layered dimension.

Gold is an important medium in her art – probably the most continuous constant in the artist’s extensive work. Applied in its structured form as gold leaf, this application runs through the work of Birgit Kuss like a red thread and gives them a noble recognition value.
