In his painting Dan Green is keen to explore the tradtional methods and techniques of the past, from the surfaces used to using glazes and making his own paints and mediums in the process. Whilst still exploring portraiture and images relating to our childhood memories, held in collections around the UK, and elsewhere, the effects of ageing on natural forms as well as objects, and the inherent beauty that lies within them has become an important part of his work.

Dan Green is now based in Northern France but is commuting weekly to his studio in the UK, near Maidstone in Kent, where together with his wife Val is continuing to teach the art classes that they have been doing together for the last 20 years.

Dan Green obtained in 1999 a First Class BA [Hons] Degree in Fine Art, at the Kent Institute of Art & Design, in Canterbury, having previously gained a BA [Hons] Degree in the History of Art, at University College, London in 1979.
