Ruhulla Hasanzade

Ruhulla Hasanzadeh is one of Azerbaijan’s leading young artists with widely recognized talents for painting, sculpting, illustration and conceptual art. Born into an artistic family in Baku (1993), Ruhulla quickly developed a passion for drawing. He was just 12 years old when, in 2005, his work was first featured in a public exhibition. A few months later, Ruhulla was featured in a book entitled “Talents of the 21st century”. He has been a member of the European Academy of Natural Sciences since 2008 and his early artworks featured in international exhibitions in Belgium, Russia and Turkey. Working with local and foreign painters, Ruhulla has taken part in several symposiums and projects organized in Icheri Sheher (Baku’s UNESCO-listed Old City) and at the Azerbaijan State Academy of the Fine Arts from which he is a graduate.
More recent exhibition collaborations have included the ground-breaking 2014 ‘Invasion. Museum’ which thrust the work of Azerbaijan’s emerging young artists, designers and musicians into a series of Baku galleries.
