Karol Kochanowski

I am a Polish-born artist and painter currently based in Manchester, UK. I earned my Fine Art (BA) degree from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2013. My work has been exhibited internationally in Germany, the US, Greece, and the UK. In 2020, I received the Granada Foundation Gallery Exhibition Award at the Manchester Open Awards for my piece "Class."

As an artist, I'm fascinated by the intricate relationship between our conscious and unconscious thoughts. My art delves into the uncharted territories of our subconscious, seeking to unearth hidden imagery. In my painting, I infuse forms and spaces with an eerie sense of depth, inviting viewers to explore the enigmatic layers beneath the surface. My work serves as visual suggestions into the potentially concealed recesses of the mind, challenging observers to contemplate the territory of unspoken and the unseen. As a neurodivergent individual, I aim to analyse the subconscious, inviting viewers into a contemplative dialogue.
