A series of sculptures presenting a man as an object of desire. In the history of art, for centuries, the female body has been the most exploited. I reverse the role. I am a sculptress. And being a sculptress is more than just a profession for me. It is a way of life. Everything in my life is subordinated to sculpture. It is not a sacrifice, but a dedication to something that I know brings me closer to understanding. Physical contact with matter is the essence of sculpture and one of the most inspiring ways of knowing the world. It is through touch that I reach beauty, goodness and truth. I learn how complex these values are. I struggle with the matter of knowledge, just as I struggle for form with a lump of clay. Sometimes it is an unequal fight, sometimes a refined dialogue, often a pointless brawl, but always a pleasure of being in THIS PROCESS. Koper works with many materials and techniques; metal, stone, ceramics and plastics. Physical contact with matter, the sense of touch, fascination with the human body, are the main motifs in her works. She regularly collaborates with, among others, the Sopot Auction House and the Two of Art gallery in Amsterdam. "The artist's work is a very clear, unique affirmation of life - there is room here for both new creations and a quite clear praise of pleasure and corporeality. Koper experiments and transforms, and her sculptural transformations make up an organic vision of a personal universe, whose unique features and shapes are an original signature, a creative autograph of the artist. The ambiguity and multitude of associations hidden in the works open up an unlimited field for individual interpretations and tasting this art in your own, often intimate way."
