The minimalist painter Andrea Pallang is known for pristine geometric works in a seductive rainbow of colors. Heavily influenced by Mark Rothko, Frank Stella, and Barnett Newman, Pallang continues the legacy of American color field painting. With their perfect edges and slick surfaces, the works also recall hard-edge Minimalism. Interested in the positive psychological effects of lines, colors, and shapes, Pallang uses repetition and symmetry to express visceral visual rhythms.
