Electric Bloom Painting

Xenia Koya is a contemporary artist working in the style of abstract expressionism. She primarily uses acrylic on canvas and paper, creating intuitively and without sketches, fully immersed in a state of flow. Her inspirations include artists like Kazuo Shiraga, Cy Twombly, and Jean-Michel Basquiat. Her work is not confined by specific themes — it centers on emotion and inner imagery, often connected to the human form. She studied for three years at the Shchusev Art School and later took private lessons in academic painting. Today, she continues to grow as a self-taught artist. Xenia has been practicing professionally for the past two years. In 2024, her work was selected for the Young Artist Call competition. She values artistic freedom and the creative process over the final result. For her, art should provoke emotion, leave room for interpretation, and occasionally challenge the viewer.
