ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I like that none of the people in the water are looking at me. They are each preoccupied with their own thoughts, and live in their own space. And yet, they seem to mimic each other's actions. It's also hard to make photographs of people where they aren't aware of the camera. In most of the photographs that I see, they are. And so this photograph offers something genuine -- people who are objectively observed. Their behavior is not influence by me. I also like that this image captures a moment in time (obviously) in which everyone seems to be in the perfect place in relation to me (and the camera).
