I was born in Istanbul in 1976, My early professional experience is designing patterns for textiles and carpets that integrated Turkish and Ottoman art from 2000 to 2006.
My journey in three-dimensional art began in 2009 under the guidance of sculptor Yesim Sahin and Toma Gabor leading to exhibitions in Istanbul and Dubai, where I lived from 2014 to 2017. In Johannesburg, I studied human anatomy and relief art with Marina Walsh in South Africa and collaborated with Amalie von Maltitz during the pandemic. Since relocating to America in 2022, my work, including the new Snakes collection, has been featured in Seattle, marking a new chapter in my artistic career.
I graduated from the Department of Traditional Turkish Arts at Marmara University mastering disciplines like ottoman illumination art, manuscript illumination, traditional calligraphy, and miniature painting under mentors Prof. Dr. Cicek Derman and Inci Birol, and graduating top of my class in 1999.
