2022 (1) Drawing

A work sadly inspired by the invasion of Ukraine, and the frustration of how we got to this place. I have used my portraiture skills to show some manipulators and manipulated who got us to this point. A driving force of self enrichment for many of them and shows some of devastation they've caused. It is by no means an exhaustive selection, just some of the people and incidents that stood out to me. It is a work that depicts this moment in time. It is entitled 2002 (1) as I may do another similar work in the year, when I'm hoping I can add some more positive representations - unfortunately at the moment, most positives are also coloured by negatives. Charcoal, chalk and sanguine used on 450g linen, stretched on frame.
