born in 1976, living in south west of France between beach and mountains, a perfect area to be inspired. The beautiful beaches that surround him and those he discovers around the world are the scene of his art. Through his drawings and his photographs, Sam makes us stop and reflect on the magic of the moment, our relationship with nature and the very essence of our beings His rake as a brush, he sublimates the landscapes with his lines, straight or curved, always in search of harmony between his work and its environment. With his works, simple or complex, he plays with space and dimensions to create these forms that question us while integrating them perfectly into the landscape. And sometimes, because Sam is also a committed artist, written messages, of an environmental, societal or political nature, take place there to bring us to reflection, even to reaction. After losing his job in 2007, Sam decides to seize the opportunity to be his own boss and make a living from what has always fascinated him: art and creation. Without any particular training, he makes use of his sensitivity which he already materializes in his adolescence in poetry. After trying to several techniques since the 2000s, from painting to sculpture, he discovered beach art in a surf video the same year and tried it a year later. A pioneer in this technique in France since 2008, he travels regularly to find new cases that he will highlight with the unique help of his rake, nature being, ultimately, the main work! Often improvised, Sam's works draw their inspiration from the surrounding nature, following lines in rocks, crevices, the shape of the beach, puddles, sometimes seeking beauty in a simple line. When traveling, the country and its culture are also an important source of inspiration, such as works from Portuguese tiles or zelliges and Arabic calligraphy in Morocco. Through photography which completes this first ephemeral work, he brings another look at his work to extract a new story and thus create a second work, sustainable this time. Through his drawings and photos, Sam reveals the poetry of the present moment, its fleetingness, its fragility and the importance of reveling in it by posing as a conscious contemplator. Beyond aesthetics.
